We had a fun-filled vacation! We drove down on Sunday afternoon, and the drive was a breeze. The kids were able to watch one movie after another (they rarely watch a full length movie at home) and were silent the entire time. Nobody needed a potty break or snacks or anything! They were unbelievably content! The kids knew we were going to the beach, but we hadn't told them that the bulk of our vacation was set for Disneyland!
This is how they were the entire ride!!!
After a good nights' sleep in our condo, we headed for Disneyland - getting there right as it opened. The drive was easy, all diamond lanes, so we didn't have to deal with traffic. When we approached the park, the kids still had no idea where we were. Even after we finally told them, it was a little anti-climactic since they didn't have much of a fram of reference for what Disneyland really is. The excitement built as we entered the park, though!!! I think I saw a weather report that said it was 102 degrees in Anaheim that day! Yikes!!!
Driving in Autopia while Matthew and Wyatt were on Space Mountain!!!
Learning how to be a princess!
Almost getting to meet Sleeping Beauty...that's Annabelle in the yellow.
Hands up on the roller coaster!!!
The Jedi Training Academy - kids were picked to learn how to become a Jedi. Both kids wanted to, but weren't quite exhuberant enough...I think they were trying not to melt in the heat!
Storm troopers! That's Wyatt standing in the blue shirt.
Darth Vader!
And the very evil looking Darth Maul...he was scary!
Tuesday we decided to spend the morning at the beach, have lunch and let Annabelle nap. Then we headed to Disneyland in the late afternoon so we could stay into the evening for one of the parades.
It was less than 60 degrees on Tuesday! What a major difference! It didn't stop the kids, though!
You always have to play Run for your Life! at the beach!
Run!!!!!
Cool sand castle...
Putting more decorations on it...
This crazy kid actually got in the water to boogie board!
Annabelle wanted to put her swimsuit on, but I wouldn't let her. We played in the sand instead!
I didn't take any pictures on Tuesday afternoon at Disneyland! We must have been too busy! And, pictures of us waiting in line aren't that exciting!!!
The token "We went to Disneyland" picture! (Wednesday morning)
Waiting for the "Honey, I shrunk the audience" 3-D show to start. This was actually really entertaining! It scared Annabelle, though. She spent most of the show in my lap.
She didn't actually get to talk to Alice...she was getting ready to play a game, and I was only able to snap a picture of AB near her! Alice was shooing people away, and we were on our way out.
Thursday we decided to take a day off from Disneyland. We needed to spend a day exploring Newport Beach a little more. We took the 20 second ferry to Balboa Island and walked around there for awhile. We came back and played at the Fun Zone Arcade and then had lunch out at the end of the pier at Ruby's. It was another beautiful day! While Annabelle took a nap, Wyatt and Matthew went across the street to the little bay beach and played a little baseball!
Look at the tickets Wyatt got for playing the game!
Let's see how these three can dance!
Born to ride!
Slam Dunk!
Great day for baseball!
After Annabelle's nap, we headed back to the beach. It was a much better day for the water!
Friday we headed back to our last day...we went to the California Adventure park with the intentions of trying to stick it out the entire day so we could see the light parade at 8 p.m. We had a great day, but didn't make it to the parade.
Annabelle was beside herself to see Minnie Mouse!!!
Riding the slowest bumper cars I've ever seen! Fun enough to those who don't know, though!!!
When we got home, there were men fishing at the bay beach across from our condo. Wyatt went right over to see what they were doing. One really nice man got a fish on his line and let Wyatt reel it in!
One last picture of the kids on the beach. This gives you an idea of our view from our condo. It was beautiful!
We left Saturday morning for another really smooth ride home! It was such a great vacation!
