Thundering Crickets

It has been a hot, hot week, and today was no different. We had our first soccer game at 9 a.m., and it was already scorching! Matthew and his friend Greg are the coaches of Wyatt's team. The kids all had fun, and the coaches have their work cut out for them! They have about 15 - 20 minutes of time to do drills or teach a skill, and then the kids play a game against another team. One hour total, and it's perfect. The kids and parents alike, loved the banner and are proud to be "Thundering Crickets"!!!

Stretching out before the drills.

Annabelle supervising (or is she pushing Papa down further - helping him stretch?!).

They live a charmed life...

Not only was it the first week of school, Opa and Papa also decided it would be a great week to go sailing! Opa regularly rents a boat out of OCSC in Berkeley for Wednesday night sailing. I have been lucky enough to tag along a few times, and it is really fun. We sail for a while, stop and have bread, cheese and wine and then sail back. The kids had so much fun, and can't wait to go again. It was a beautiful day... 104 degrees on our side of the tunnel...74 degrees once we passed through to the Berkeley side. Gotta love these micro-climates!

Checking the boat out before we set sail.

This makes the Opa very happy...

What else for dinner? Burritos, of course!!!

Annabelle learning how to sail!

Looking up at the sails, and very amazed by it...

And, an even better picture w/Opa and another sailboat in the background!

Thanks, Opa, for a great time!
