The Comings and Goings of Life

A few weeks ago, we finally got the great news that I'm pregnant again! It had been getting close to 2 years that we had been trying, so we were beginning to think that maybe it wasn't meant to be. The baby is due around the end of November (most likely Thanksgiving!!!), and we couldn't be any happier. I'm 12 weeks, now, and the crazy tired fog is beginning to lift...just in time for a ridiculous heat wave!

The best part of this news is that we were able to share it with Matthew's mom. Along with everyone else, she's been there wishing and praying for us, and if there was anyone who needed a bit of sunshine at a particularly dark time, it was Pat. We told her right away, so that she would have something positive to think about while fighting that ugly disease called cancer. The worst part of this news is that she will not be here to meet Mundy #3. Patricia passed away during the evening of May 2. I find solace in the fact that the baby will have a true guardian angel looking down on him or her. Pat was a special person to every single person she ever met. It sucks that I only got 8 short years to know and learn from her, but am blessed that I had 8 years. My challenge now is to keep her spirit alive in the eyes of my children - so that they can feel like they knew her the way that I did, even if they don't have their own personal memories. We miss you.

Great Grandma Visits from Virginia!

My mom and dad went on a whirlwind cross-country trip to bring my grandma to the West Coast for a visit. They first flew to Virginia to pick up grandma, then took her back to the lake house in Washington, then headed to our house, and then all went to SoCal to visit my Auntie Mar, which is my grandma's sister.

The kids were ecstatic to see grandma, grandpa AND great grandma! Their last visit here was so busy with our laundry room finishing, Wyatt didn't really get to play very much....he made up for it this time! One of the days he had grandpa's undivided attention ALL DAY LONG! They went from playing baseball, to tag, to 7 games of CandyLand (In my book, you are a saint if you can put up with that game for that long!), multiple games of Uno, and so on. Wyatt wore my dad OUT! It was great for my grandma (my dad's mom) to witness, and so, so much fun for Wyatt.

We all spent a lot of time just hanging out and watching the kids. It was a ton of fun! I'm pretty sure all grandparents were exhausted when they finally returned to their homes, but I know it was a trip to remember! Thanks mom and dad!
Soon, Wyatt will be making the French Toas FOR grandpa!
Who needs a horse-shoe pit when you have horse shoes and a hose container?!
They played this game for hours!!!
Having a quiet little chat...
What can we play next? How about the hand slapping game?!
A good-night kiss!
A good morning snuggle!
